Just under 3,000 fans from the northeast of Scotland will be sampling the Apfelwein in the many hostelries of Frankfurt this week. They may well need to devour a lot of it to numb the pain of what increasingly looks like an unfolding car crash of a season and an imminent and very likely annihilation by the city’s team Eintracht.
