Remain in Light performance projects the spirit of FloydFest

Talking Headsâ masterpiece, âRemain in Light,â turned 40 years old last year. On Friday at FloydFest, Talking Heads member Jerry Harrison and guitarist Adrian Belew performed the album with New York funk band Turkuaz, in what was easily the festivalâs highlight. Many in the audience werenât yet born when that record dropped. Many in the audience grew up with the album. The situation was similar earlier in July, when the act debuted the show at Peach Music Festival, in Pennsylvania. The two night NYE run will take place December 30 and 31 at Infinity Hall in Hartford, Connecticut. The Brooklyn-based nonet has conducted previous Ball Drop events in Boulder, Colorado; Worcester, Massachusetts and Baltimore. With the pandemic putting a hold on NYE festivities last year, Turkuaz is excited to ring in 2022 with two nights in Connecticut.

For the first time since its original airing in September 2020, Turkuaz is treating fans to the complete Remain in Light set filmed remotely for Bonnaroo s virtual livestream ROO-ALITY, featuring legendary Talking Heads musicians Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew, with percussion from Yahuba Garcia-Torres.
