AnaLee: You wrote most of the record with your producer, Jano Rix, I believe pre-pandemic, was that here in Nashville? It had to have been a bit frustrating waiting to release the album, but now that it’s been out for a couple of months and enjoying time in the top twenty of the Americana Album Chart, how are you feeling about the release and what the rest of 2021 looks like now?

Taylor Hicks is ready to put 2020 behind him and sing to some people. He’s got a date and a place to do just that: May 22 at the Flora-Bama, a joint that was a cradle to his music career long before “American Idol” made him a household name.
“When I was 17 years old I was happy just to play in the Flora-Bama,” he said. “I would have played outside in the parking lot if I could. I think a little bit of gray hair helped me actually get into the club when I was 17 or 18 years old.”
