This new ballot processing machine can do four days work in an hour, according to Dauphin County Commissioner Mike Pries. Pries said the machine is worth about $309,000 and was bought with grant money.

Dauphin County is unveiling a brand-new elections office officials say will greatly improve the voter experience and the efficiency of counting ballots.
The 9,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility will open to the masses at 1251 S. 28th St. just in time for the municipal primary election on May 18.
The new Elections and Voter Registration Office has moved into a building the county has owned for years that sat vacant since 2016, according to Dauphin County Commissioner Mike Pries. The elections office was previously in the Dauphin County Administration Building in downtown Harrisburg.
