A Middletown, Dauphin County-based food bank is preparing to send food and supplies to those without power in Texas as the Lone Star State recovers from a record-setting cold snap.
Midwest Food Bank said it is answering the call of the Salvation Army, which has requested over 4,000 family food boxes be sent to their facility in Arlington, Texas.
As millions in Pa. seek COVID-19 vaccine, state asks residents ‘to be patient’

About 12 million visitors nearly equal the state’s population went online to see a Pennsylvania map of locations where they can sign up for COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.
They in turn flooded providers listed on the map who, unfortunately, lack sufficient vaccine and, in some cases, the staff to handle all the calls.
“Unfortunately, we do not have enough vaccine for everyone who wants it right now, but we will have more in the future,” state health department spokesman Barry Ciccocioppo said Wednesday. The state is working with health care providers and pharmacists to “temper public expectation,” he said.
