Boarding schools and parents have welcomed the government s decision to allow international pupils to quarantine at school.
Previously pupils arriving from red list countries had to quarantine in hotels but they will now be able to self-isolate in their own dormitories.
The Boarding Schools Association had warned pupils quarantining in hotels was a significant safeguarding risk .
About 500 international pupils attend Millfield School in Street, Somerset, with about 10% of those arriving from red list countries, it said.

Parents and teachers have called for international pupils to be allowed to self-isolate at their school, rather than in a quarantine hotel .
In a letter to the government on behalf of 500 schools, the Boarding Schools Association said hotel accommodation was unsafe for pupils.
James Davidson said the thought of his daughter quarantining on her return to school from Abu Dhabi made him anxious.
The government said parents should accompany children during quarantine.
