Two Pakatan MPs pledging support for PM insufficient for ruling coalition to have firm footing, say experts

JAYA: The position of Perikatan Nasional (PN) as the coalition in power has received a boost with two MPs from the opposition Pakatan Harapan (PH) declaring their support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
However, political analyst Prof Dr Barjoyai Bardai said the defection of the two opposition MPs “was not a big thing”.
“The main question is whether Barisan Nasional (BN) will continue to be a part of PN when Parliament reconvenes,” he said.
Apart from BN, Bersatu and PAS are also members of PN.

He said these MPs were receiving only RM100,000 instead of the RM3.7 million given to others.
Calling this an “unfair” practice, the Tuaran MP believed this was a form of punishment for these party leaders for not always seeing eye to eye with Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders.

Tangau said he empathised with Umno President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is Bagan Datuk MP, and others in his party who received this sum, an amount which is given to opposition MPs.
