KOTA KINABALU, May 11 A minister said tonight there is no need to draft a new agreement to replace the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) which provided for Sabah and Sarawak to join Malaya in forming Malaysia.

KUCHING, April 1 Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin tonight said three working committees will table their reports and recommendations on matters which they have discussed for decision by the Special Cabinet Council on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
He said the council, which he chairs, will meet next week to decide on the reports and recommendations from the three working committees.

He said that the inclusive line-up demonstrates that the current government is serious about fulfilling its election manifesto.
“It is good to see this development because it also shows that GRS is not affected by the political turmoil in Peninsular Malaysia, he said in a statement on Sunday (Jan 10).
The four in the 27-member GRS committee are Sabah STAR president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, deputy president Datuk Ellron Angin, secretary-general Datuk Guandee Kohoi and assistant secretary-general Ardino Diris.
On Saturday (Jan 9), GRS chairman Datuk Hajiji Noor named Sabah Umno chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin as GRS deputy chairman I, Parti Bersatu Sabah president Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili as deputy chairman II and Jeffrey as deputy chairman III when the new nine-party coalition solidified itself through an MOU.
