Annuar's SOP violation case: Police to record statements from witnesses

KUALA LUMPUR: Police will record the statements from witnesses to facilitate investigation into the case involving Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa ( pix) who was alleged to have violated the Movement Control Order (MCO) standard operating procedures (SOP) at an event here recently. Kuala Lumpur Police chief Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin said the witnesses to be called include those in Annuar’s entourage and the locals who also attended the event. He said they would be called soon as the police had finished recording Annuar’s statement yesterday. The case is being investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).

KL cops to help police retirees update their information to receive RM500 cash aid

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin ( pic) said police retirees who need help updating their information can head to the city police headquarters or any of the district police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur from Feb 17 - 19. We will be able to assist them from 8am to 5pm, he said. Approximately 80,000 police personnel, including retirees who served during the Emergency era, are set to receive a one-time cash aid of RM500 to be implemented in stages from March to November. This included retirees who have yet to receive the Pingat Jasa Pahlawan Negara medals. Comm Saiful Azly said this includes those who served in Jungle Squad, Senoi Praaq, Sabah & Sarawak Border Scout, auxiliary police, special constabulary, Extra Police Constables, the Home Guards, Women Sarawak Constabulary, and the North Borneo Armed Constabulary who are still living.

Cops probing incident involving Annuar

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating an incident where Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa was photographed being seated at a table with six other people during an event in Cheras. Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin said an investigation paper has been opened on the incident. “We will record the statement of the minister soon as part of our investigation. “A police report on the matter was lodged in Cheras, ” he said yesterday. Under the current movement control order, only two people are allowed per table at any restaurant or food premises. Annuar had attended an event recently, where the photograph of the group allegedly eating together at one table was taken.
