KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali
(pic) has lodged a police report against Tan Sri Tommy Thomas over his recently-released book My Story: Justice in the Wilderness .
The former attorney general, accompanied by lawyer Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu, lodged the report at 2.15pm Thursday (Feb 4) at the Sentul police headquarters. The purpose of the police report is for justice to be done, not only for me but for others who have been scandalised and humiliated by the book, especially officers of the Attorney General s Chambers. They are caught in a predicament of having to defend themselves and at the same time, going against their former head of department, he said in a statement.

Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Fadzil Ahmat said police would call up the former attorney general as soon as possible to have his statement recorded. So far, only one police report has been lodged against him in Selangor in connection with the book, he said when contacted on Wednesday (Feb 3).
The Star reported former solicitor-general III Datuk Mohamad Hanafiah Zakaria as claiming that an excerpt from Thomas s book had tarnished his image as a Deputy Public Prosecutor who has served for 33 years.

My Story: Justice in the Wilderness after a former senior Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) officer alleged criminal defamation in the book.
Selangor Criminal Investigations Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Datuk Fadzil Ahmat confirmed the matter when asked if the authorities would be commencing investigations against Thomas over the contents of the latter’s book as alleged by former solicitor general III Datuk Mohamad Hanafiah Zakaria after lodging a police report.

JAYA: Police will summon former attorney-general Tan Sri Tommy Thomas (
pix) for investigations following a police report lodged against him by former solicitor-general Datuk Mohamad Hanafiah Zakaria for alleged defamation.
Mohamad Hanafiah who made the report in Cyberjaya on Tuesday, alleged that contents in Thomas’ recently released memoir titled “My Story: Justice in the Wilderness” had tarnished his reputation as it suggested that he was incapable of handling high-profile cases.
The excerpts from Thomas’ book the ex-solicitor-general III had referred to were related to the prosecution’s preparations for the SRC International Sdn Bhd case trial.
Selangor police CID chief SAC Datuk Fadzil Ahmat, who confirmed receiving the police report today, said that Thomas will be called in to have his statement recorded at the soonest.
