Sabah Health Director Datuk Dr Rose Nani Binti Mudin commended the Society of Sabah Heart Fund helping young patients with congenital heart disease receive heart surgery.
Its over 40 years of sustainable networking with the hospital helped clear many children in the waiting list for Corrective Heart Surgery.
SOSHF President Datuk Eva Susan requested for more cardiologists, particularly adult congenital cardiologists, to be placed in Sabah, while seeking solutions from the Federal Government to allow newly trained cardiologists to be retained for longer tenures at government hospitals.
With more experienced doctors and specialists entering private practice, Eva underlined growing concern from the public on general healthcare services, as well services in treatment and prevention of heart disease
