DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao - Police are trying to pursue two "persons of interest" linked to the shooting of a widow and her son in Talayan, Maguindanao on Sunday. Col. Jibin Bongcayao, Maguindanao police director, said Monday that victims Zahariya Bansuan and her 14-year-old son died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds. Bongcayao said the mother was driving a motorbike with her son around 5 p.m. Sunday while traversing the national highway in Sitio Matalam, Barangay Poblacion, Talayan, Maguindanao when they were attacked by riding-in-tandem suspects. The gunmen sped off toward adjacent Datu Piang town after the incident. "We believed it was due to a long-drawn grudge," Bongcayao said, adding that the victim's husband was also shot dead last month in Cotabato City.
