The fire that broke out in Daser Bharani area of Sharankhola Range in East Sundarbans on Wednesday morning was extinguished this afternoon.
Mohammed Belayet Hossain, divisional forest officer (DFO) of the East Sundarbans division, said the fire was now completely extinguished. No new fire or smoke was seen anywhere since afternoon.
The fire had broken out around 10:00am on Wednesday.
Talking to our Bagerhat correspondent, Joynal Abedin, assistant conservator of forests at the Sundarbans East Forest Department, said, There was intense observation from everyone today. Reserved water has been provided at the places where smoke has been observed.

The fire in Daser Bharani area of Sarankhola Range of East Sundarbans Forest Department has not been completely extinguished yet.
The fire is still burning and smoke is coming out from different places, said firefighters at 5:00pm today, reports our Bagerhat correspondent.
The fire service and forest department were unable to say when the fire would be completely extinguished. However, there is strict surveillance on the area of the fire.

A fire broke out again in Daser Bharani area of Sarankhola Range in East Sundarbans Division today.
The fire broke out around 10:00am today on the south side of the forest where it was doused yesterday, reports our Bagerhat correspondent.
Three fire service units from Bagerhat, Morrelganj and Sarankhola reached the spot to put out the fire.
Earlier, a fire broke out on Monday. The fire was doused at 5:00pm yesterday after a 30-hour effort by the fire service, forest department and locals.

Forest fires are still burning in Sarankhola Range of the Sundarbans.
Firefighters suspended their operation for the night around 5:00pm yesterday before darkness fell.
Unless overnight rains put out the fires, the officials will resume the operation from this morning, firefighters said.
Forest department officials are staying in the Daser Bharani area, where the fires are, to watch over the situation, said Joynal Abedin, assistant conservator of forests at the Sundarbans East Forest Department.

A fire broke out at Daser Bharani area under Sharankhola Range of Sundarbans East Forest Division today.
A unit of Sharankhola Fire Service and Civil Defense Station as well as the forest department are working together to bring the fire under control, reports our Bagerhat correspondent quoting a forest official.
The fire might have originated due to high weather temperature, said Abdul Mannan, Sharankhola station officer of the Sundarbans East Forest Division.
The fire broke out around 12:00 pm today, said Mohammad Belayet Hossain, divisional forest officer (DFO) of the Sundarbans East Forest Department.
