KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 11): East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contractor China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd (CCC-ECRL) and project owner Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) are taking proactive steps in providing assistance to flood-hit communities in the East Coast states. In a joint statement today, CCC-ECRL and MRL said they had reached out to Pahang Local Disaster Operations Control Centres (PKOB) in Maran, Temerloh and Kuantan to offer flood relief assistance. CCC-ECRL said Jan 5 its offices in Maran had provided transportation and supplies to flood relief centres as well as manpower and machinery like excavators to assist in Maran town cleanup efforts.
