Nurses who work full time in hospitals and care facilities across Nova Scotia will get a $10,000 bonus this year and can get $10,000 more next year if they agree to work until 2026. Other health care workers are getting a one-time $5,000 bonus this year.
A Nova Scotia surgeon completed a Canadian first last November when she used a robot to perform a total hip replacement on a patient at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Dr. Jennifer Leighton says the robot gives her greater precision during the operation, and that means fewer patients need follow up surgeries.
