Voters will decide the attorney generals race. Democratic incumbent Pamela Harris faces opponent ron gold a republican and former attorney general. Proposition 47 would downgrade nonviolent crimes such as drug possessions or small property theft from a felony to a misdemeanor and thousands of state prisoners serving time for those crimes could have their sentences reduced retroactively. Scott schafer leads our discussion. Proposition 47 is the latest proposal to reform criminal justice in california. Its supported by liberals like the San Francisco d. A. But also by conservatives including Newt Gingrich.
