UPDATE 4.30PM: The owner of a utility which was allegedly used in a high-speed spree across the Sunshine Coast says GPS technology helped him track the vehicle. DSE Civil Electrical director Darryl Rankin said he had tracked his allegedly stolen Toyota HiLux from his Warana shopfront to a Gardak Street, Maroochydore address. Mr Rankin said it was a young man behind the wheel of the utility which went roaring out of his shop s driveway about 12pm. He said the GPS tracker helped police follow the man s many movements and eventually catch him. DSE Civil Electrical director Darryl Rankin. Picture: Patrick Woods
