Algoma District School Board will offer a virtual workshop series for parents this spring. The series, organized by the board’s Parent Involvement Committee, will present four workshops on a variety of topics. It will kick off on Tuesday, April 27 with an overview of Edsby, the parent communication tool used by ADSB. Marty Stilin, ADSB’s officer of privacy, planning and data management, and Michael Poluk, the board’s technology and data co-ordinator, will present the session, meant to help parents understand how to navigate Edsby and its features. The second session, on Wednesday, May 5, will address cyberbullying. Dr. Wendy Craig from Queen’s University will head up this session with the goal of helping parents understand cyberbullying and its effects, and providing parents with strategies to find out if their child is involved in cyberbullying. Organizers indicated this workshop is particularly timely. Normally about 16 per cent of youth report being cybervictimized
