alex holt, darryl boyer and sydney. alex, you re a florida dad with 6-year-old twin, independent, tell me who you re supporting in the republican primary. being a floridean, it s pretty easy to make that call. having gotten to live the last five and a half years here in florida with ron desantis as governor, it s not really a hard choice. guest governor they can remember, i m 39 years old. really just the best elected politician that i ve ever got ton witness and i m just excited that the last five years have been as successful as they have down here. you know, i want that for the country. rachel: keeping that with you, alex, for a quick answer. the state of florida, there s no question that ron desantis did a good job but under donald trump we had the greatest economy this
country has ever seen. what are your thoughts on that? i would say that it s easy to have a good economy. i mean i would judge desantis performance economic performance during the covid years when the vast that jordyty of the country was majority of the country was struggling. his policy decisions here in florida allowed us to thrive during that time. my kids got to be in school, my company could still do well. i don t think there s to me that s the same. rachel: darryl, i saw you shaking when i talked about the trump economy. there s a battle going on between ron desantis and donald trump over the litigation of how covid should have been handled. lot of people happy with how ron desantis handled it in florida but to be fair to the president, he allowed governors to make those decisions. you didn t do a federal mandate saying everyone had to lockdown. he said every state should decide and ron chose wisely.
