After a couple of home meets to start off the indoor portion of the season, the K-State will have the misfortune of traveling east for the Jayhawk Classic in Lawrence starting today and extending into tomorrow. K-State will face the host Jayhawks and Wichita State in a rematch from the Triangular last week (one that the Wildcats won).
K-State has gotten off to a strong start so far this season with seven different athletes ranking in the top 15 in their events led by senior Tejaswin Shankar who has the top high jump mark in the country and the fourth-best triple jump. Along with Shankar, freshman Kyle Gale is ranked fourth in the 400, junior Anigbata Grace Chinonyelum is ranked third in the triple jump, junior Chantoba Bright is sixth in the triple jump, Colin Echols is ninth in the weight throw, Vitoria Alves is fourth in the 60-meter hurdles and Kassidy Johnson is 14 in the 800.
