Last summer, 13-year-old Team GB skateboarding phenom Sky Brown was attempting to leap between two curved vert ramps when her board shot from beneath her and she fell 15ft to the ground.
Brown landed head-first onto a concrete floor and was rushed to hospital. Her father, Stuart, says it was touch and go whether she would ever recover. But recover she did, and what was Brown s reaction? What did she do as she lay in a hospital bed with a fractured skull, a broken arm, broken fingers and a cracked tooth? She uploaded the footage to YouTube.

Manchester-based swimmer Margery Hinton represented Great Britain at the
Sky Brown is marginally younger, having just turned 13, and is widely expected to be one of the stars of the
Tokyo games as skateboarding makes its Olympic debut.
Not every skateboarder wants to see their sport go mainstream but Sky and her teammate, 15-year-old Bombette Martin, are about to do just that.
The teenager, who lives in
California and has a father from England, told Sky News she never really feels nerves or pressure when she is on her board.

In 2003, the Royal Bank of Scotland and the
Sunday Times selected 20 British under-21s who they believed would be multimillionaires by the year 2020. Some of the names on the “rich list” will be familiar: Keira Knightley or Wayne Rooney, who has earned considerably more than the projected £25m. Others were more of a punt, such as the 19-year-old skateboarder Lucy Adams from Horsham, west Sussex. Adams had won a competition called King of the Streets and there was burgeoning interest in skateboarding thanks to the American legend Tony Hawk’s hit video game
Pro Skater. The list estimated that Adams would be worth £10m by 2020.
