The awards, which took place virtually were broadcast online from the Mansion House in Dublin, are in their 22nd year and run annually by the Local Enterprise Offices. WowWee.ie took home the Pivot Award. A personalised gifting company who relied heavily on corporate gifting saw their business disappear once the pandemic hit but pivoted to sell direct to consumers. The response has seen them excel in an extremely competitive market. The business is owned by Áine Gleeson from Ennis.

National award in the can for Mullingar Updated / Thursday, 11 Feb 2021 23:43 Midlands Correspondent Two young men from Mullingar, Co Westmeath have won the top prize at the National Enterprise Awards after setting up the largest craft beer canning plant in Europe in just four years. Bevcraft was established by friends Ciarán Gorman and Darren Fenton after Darren returned from living in Japan with the aim of creating an international business in his home town. The company offers a mobile canning solution to craft beer companies across Ireland and also operates in five European countries, including Germany and the UK. Bevcraft sends its mobile canning lines and crews into craft breweries to convert tanks of craft beer into cans, ready for supermarket shelves and off-licences.

The awards which are run by the Local Enterprise Offices are in their 22nd year and recognise the achievements of small businesses. The Minister of State for business, employment and retail, Damien English made the announcement from the Mansion House in Dublin which was broadcast live online, with the 30 finalists watching from around the country. Bevcraft Bevcraft was set up by friends Darren Fenton and Ciarán Gorman with the aim of creating an international business in their home town of Mullingar.

The 22nd annual awards, which took place virtually, were streamed from the Mansion House in Dublin last night. Odyssey Studios, which was set up by Mark Maher in 2017, took home the South West Region award.    The state-of-the art model making studio is based on the Dock Road and is one of the largest permanent model making studios in Europe.
