Trump Donates to United Cajun Navy for Search and Rescue Mission
The group on Friday on social media confirmed Trump’s donation, thanking him.
“We will bring every crewmember of the #seacorpower vessel home!” the nonprofit wrote in a tweet.
Todd Terrell, the president of the United Cajun Navy, confirmed to local news outlets that Trump donated $10,000. He said the money would be used to bolster search efforts for crew members from Seacor Power, a 129-foot lift boat that capsized on April 13 off the coast of Louisiana.
Trump’s office did not respond to a request for comment.
A U.S. Coast Guard-led mission, including Good Samaritans, resulted in the finding of 11 people from the capsized vessel; five were dead.

With Search Ending, 13 Are Likely Dead in Capsized Boat in Gulf
The Seacor Power, a lift boat carrying 19 people, capsized last week, eight miles from a Louisiana port in stormy weather. Six crew members were quickly rescued. The bodies of five others have been recovered.

The Coast Guard on Monday said it was ending the search for eight crew members of a commercial lift boat who have been missing for six days in the frigid waters off Louisiana after the boat capsized in a storm in the Gulf of Mexico. The likely death toll now stands at 13.

Two more men were confirmed dead on Saturday following the capsize of the Seacor Power oil exploration vessel earlier this week off the coast of Louisiana, bringing the death toll to four.
Officials confirmed that they had recovered the bodies of Anthony Hartford, 53, from New Orleans, and James Wallingsford, 55, from Gilbert, Louisiana.
The bodies of the two men were found inside the capsized boat by divers, according to the Coast Guard.
A man identified as Ernest Williams, 69, of Arnaudville, Louisiana, was recovered from the water on Thursday, according to the coroner’s office. David Ledet, 63, from Thibodaux, Louisiana, was found by the coast guard on Wednesday.
