It really came down out there. And all this time the tornado warnings in our area have expired. Lets go to john rogers live in Charlotte County. John, what kind of damage did you find today . Reporter good afternoon, guys. Yourselves. I am here at luther road. You can see what Mother Nature left behind. Look at this white fence, literally pushed down by this storm. And as we look over here, you can tell that these power poles are leaning towards the road, a number have been pushed towards this direction. A number of homes and apartments in the area are currently without power there. Are power crews all along here, overseeing and replacing the damaged poles. And now over across here, you can see where the storm went through. Snapped branches. And then across the street over there, theres some homes with extensive roof
Just a release that 495 northbound was open and just 30 minutes ago, there was nothing on this side of the track because you got to remember drivers were out of the habit of using the northbound side for. It was back on june 2 when drivers said something was wrong with the two bridges over the christina river. The northbound side was sinking from the southbound side. They were underneath it. They blamed it on soil there, and they had pilings and aboveground supports, and at that point, opened the southbound side on the 31st, and, of course, the drivers we talked to did not care about the science. They were just glad it was done. Well, im glad its back open. Traffic was backed up through the city all day. Im glad to see it back open. When i tell you its reopened in the last couple hours .
