Unlike most city and town council races Tuesday, township races were partisan. And in contests for Normal Township trustee, voters elected two Democrats and two Republicans.
Democrats Sally Pyne and Arlene Hosea won, as did Republicans Floyd Aper and Art Rodriguez. Pyne and Hosea were the top two vote getters.
Democrats Dayna Schickedanz and Mary Wuhrman and Republican Carl Haney were not elected.
A write-in campaign by longtime Normal Trustee Ray Ropp has apparently not succeeded, though more write in votes could be tallied overnight. Ropp was taken off the ballot after others protested his failure to file disclosure forms.
