Within the last two days, the B.C. Wildfire Service has responded to eight new wildfires. The B.C. Wildfire Service is responding to three smaller wildfires today, June 30, roughly 30 kilometres east of Kelowna, one near Highway 97C, a wildfire northeast of Tappen in the Shuswap, one in Darke Lake Provincial Park and one southwest of Princeton along Highway 3. These fires are in addition to the large blazes near Lytton, Lillooet and Cache Creek that have put communities on evacuation alerts and orders. The West Pavillion wildfire north of Lillooet is estimated to be 5,000 hectares in size and was discovered June 29.
