South Bend opens a six game series tonight in Beloit, Wisconsin, after going 2-and-3 on their season-opening home stand last week, plus a rainout on Sunday that will be made up in August. Darin Pritchitt has the call from Beloit starting at 7:35 tonight here on Sports Radio 96-1 WSBT. In Chicago, the White Sox open a seven game home stand tonight against the Minnesota Twins: first pitch at 8:10 eastern. The Twins are in town for three, and the Kansas City Royals are back starting Friday, with a day-night doubleheader Friday to make up a rainout on April 10th. The Sox begin play tonight atop the AL Central by a game over Cleveland. Kansas City has fallen three and a half games back after the Sox swept them in Kansas City last weekend.

South Bend Cubs win second straight May 6, 2021 by Max Thoma, South Bend Cubs Despite being held to two hits on Wednesday night, the South Bend Cubs scraped out a hard fought 4-3 victory to move to 2-0 on the season. The Cubs registered their 11th straight win dating back to last season. It was a double dip of debuts on the mound as the number four overall pick from the 2020 draft, Asa Lacy, took the mound for the River Bandits in his first appearance in professional baseball, and Chris Kachmar toed the rubber for the Cubs in his South Bend debut.
