According to McIntosh County Sheriff Stephen Jessup, 33-year-old Justin Barnard of Jesup, was taken into custody and transported to the McIntosh County Detention Center.

DARIEN, Ga. (WTOC) - Several shrimp boats made their way up the Darien River on Sunday for the 53rd annual Blessing of the Fleet. The tradition celebrates the local communityâs biggest industry, shrimping.
Eight shrimp boats were blessed at the Darien Bridge this year in hopes of a bountiful shrimp season.
Shrimpers are known to be at the heart of McIntosh County, and hundreds showed up with well wishes.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Itâs a dark, but meaningful point in Southeast Georgiaâs history â The Weeping Time.
It was a two-day-long sale of enslaved people which happened in Savannah back in 1859.
On Saturday, a ceremony remembering The Weeping Time was held virtually, a way to honor the 436 enslaved people sold.
âWe come to this space and place to commemorate what happened 162 years ago.â
A virtual ceremony, remembering the largest slave auction in the United States.
