COTTAGE HILLS The annual Trinity River Festival a two-day fundraising event to honor the legacy of an Alton teen killed in a tragic car accident is planned Friday and Saturday, May 14-15 at VFW Post 7678 at 121 S. Williams Street in Cottage Hills.

Saturday and environmentally related, the National Great Rivers Research and Education Center hosts the Mississippi River Plastic Pollution Initiative and Clean Up from 1 to 4 p.m., starting at the center, 1 Confluence Way, East Alton.
