Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has called on Nigerians to desist from any act that could lead to war in Nigeria. Oba Ogunwusi also warned those beating the drum of war in the country to desist, adding that there is no gain in warfare. The traditional ruler made the remarks while playing host to Mr Olasupo Ajani, the newly posted Assistant Inspector -General of Police in charge of Zone 11, Osogbo, in his palace on Monday in Ile-Ife. Oba Ogunwusi said rather than calling for war, Nigerians should join hands to build a better nation where there would be abundance of peace and job opportunities for the youths.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Monday confirmed “a foolish attempt” to burgle the residence of the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He claimed that the incident that happened around 3am was not successful.
The presidential aide wrote, “The Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, has confirmed that there ‘was a foolish attempt’ to burgle his residence at 3am this morning, but it turned out to be unsuccessful.
“Prof Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa, has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident.”

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife Pastor Dolapo Osinbajo on Monday attended a service of songs for Pastor Dare Adeboye.
The deceased was a son of the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
Prof Osinbajo, who is also a pastor with the megachurch, said the late Dare Adeboye lived a life filled with zeal, speed, and emphasized what was important and needed to be done at the right time.
Although the vice president was in attendance at the service of songs held at the Redemption Camp, his tribute was read by Pastor Bisi Akande, the pastor in charge of Lagos Region 35.
