the dramatic confrontation in a driveway ended with police shooting a man who didn t live there. good evening, i m jim vance. i m doreen gentzler. the strange run-in happened in darnestown, maryland, minutes after police saw a strange car pull on his property. jackie bensen is on indian run drive with details. hi, jackie. reporter: good evening. news 4 learned the man that was shot has an extensive criminal history and charges for burglary, drugs and car theft. the man is hospitalized in critical condition at this hour. few details are known about why this car, a dark-colored cadillac catera ended up stuck in a driveway on this lot in darnestown. the driver was shot by a montgomery county police officer after the homeowner called 911 twice about 3:30 p.m. witness statements tell us that the subject charged, attacked the officer. the officer fired more than one shot, striking the subject. officers responding to the scene, did perform life-saving efforts. reporter: poli
