SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference announced the 2020-21 Winter and Fall Honor Roll and 89 student-athletes from Washington earned recognition, including four women s basketball players.
Any student-athlete on their respective teams that have a grade point average of 3.3-or-above and who have served at least one year of residence on their team qualifies to be named the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll during the season in which they competed. Darcy Rees, Nia Lowery, Quay Miller and Callie Lind all earned recognition for their participation with the Huskies during the 2020-21 season.
Rees is a two-time member of the Academic Honor Roll, also earning recognition for 2019-20. A junior out of Adelaide, Australia, Rees has a near perfect GPA of 3.94 and is a Psychology major. Lowery, who just completed her redshirt-freshman season, has a 3.44 GPA.
LAS VEGAS Washington (6-13, 3-13 Pac-12) opens the Pac-12 Tournament presented by New York Life as the No. 11 seed and will face No. 6 seed Colorado (10-9, 8-8) in the first round on Wednesday, March 3. The Huskies and Buffaloes wrap up the first night of action at the Mandalay Bay Event Center and will tip at 8:00 p.m.
The matchup with Colorado is the third time the teams will meet. Although the Buffaloes came out on top the first two times, Husky Coach Jody Wynn is excited for the challenge and focused on making a run as the No. 11 seed.
