Everyone. It has been a while. You have missed me. Absolutely. We have got a lot to talk about today, so lets get right to it. First off, i want to technology the tragic thing crash that occurred in australia that took the lives of australians and americans. The president s thoughts and prayers are with the families, and the conflict is ready to provide necessary assistance. Moving on, the president was proud to announce that willenant general mcmaster be serving. He was in the United States army for over three decades, including during Operation Iraqi freedom, operation injuring freedom, and operation desert storm. Enduring gfreedom, and operation desert storm. General kellogg will stay on. The president is proud to to the general mcmaster team. We will structure the office to his desires to best serve his ultimate mission, which is to interests atcan home and abroad. This morning, there were memos released regarding the implementation of twl of the president s executive orders that a
As i look back over the last year, i believe the board and the Management Team and employees have a lot to be proud of, regardless of what was just said. First and foremost is the Safety Culture is taking root at metro. It is. Ive seen it. It started, to be frank, when we shut the system down for the blizzard. And i particularly front line people were coming up to me and saying, finally someone gets it. They understand the risk we put ourselves at and our customers at when we try to put out service in 24 inches of snow. It just does not make sense from a safety perspective. Clearly that point was further driven home in march, a week after i spoke here last time, when we shut down the system for the cable inspection. And again, i think that reinforced, obviously to the customers, to our employees and the stakeholders that we take safety as seriously as we should and we will going forward. Just to talk certainly after that in late spring we announced the safe track program. Again a very
With the law under this policy, they have been living here for years to, in some cases even decades. Leaving the broken system the way it is, thats not a solution. Thats the real amnesty, pretending we can deport 11 Million People or build a wall without spending tens of billions of dollars of taxpayer abetting what is factually incorrect. Its not going to work, its not good for this country. Its a fantasy. It offers nothing to help the middle last and demeans our tradition of eating a nation of laws and a nation being a nation of laws and a nation of immigrants. It is my firm belief that immigration is not something to fear. We dont have to wall ourselves not lookthose who may like us right now or pray like we do or have a different last name, because being an american is about something more than that. What makes us american is our shared commitment to an ideal that all of us are created equal , all of us have a chance to make of our lives what we will. That whetherhows it was the ir
I moved into the army job last year is that the army has cut, to protect force structure, cut that procurement budget pretty substantially. And so that where you go for one, youve got that threelegged stool of the people, the equipment and the training that you do. And to you have to one of those other leg ares will need additional force structure for the recommendation. [inaudible] part of what we, i think when people first hear about strategy, their minds always wander to the air force and the navy. And whether or areas for the army, robotics, autonomy, different types of issue people dont necessarily need right away. Lucky for us bob bork gets back, got that right away. But there are tremendous opportunities and ways we can enhance capability for soldiers. If i can just ask one last question, mr. Secretary. You look for fulfilling the responsibilities, for young people, young women and men, their parents, families. They consider military service. What would you tell them why they ou
