The Hanoi People’s Court has sentenced Nguyen Nhat Cam, former director of the Hanoi Centre for Disease Control (CDC Hanoi), to 10 years in prison for “violations of bidding regulations that cause serious consequences”.
Also convicted of the same count on Saturday were former head of the CDC Hanoi’s Financial-Accounting Office Nguyen Vu Ha Thanh and director of Vietnam Scientific and Material Science Company Limited (MST) Dao The Vinh, who each received jail terms of six years and six months.
Former head of the CDC Hanoi’s Organisation Office Nguyen Thi Kim Dung; an employee of Vitech Development Co Ltd Nguyen Ngoc Nhat; and former general director of Nhan Thanh Asset Valuation and Auctioning JSC Nguyan Tran Duy were jailed for six years while Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, an employee of Phuong Dong Medical Equipment Co Ltd, was given a prison term of five years.
