ISLAMABAD: As the campaign for Senate elections in the country is ending with effect from the midnight today (Monday), the government and the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM) have mounted last ditch efforts to gain maximum support and both are confident about their chances of victory.
Both the sides on Sunday held some announced and secret meetings as part of the election campaign. The government has also devised strategy for the Senate polls and Prime Minister Imran Khan has also come into the field to support the PTI candidates. He will hold meetings with lawmakers of the ruling party at the Parliament today (Monday) to make sure that no one deviates from the party line while voting. The sources said the premier is expected to listen to the grievances of the party lawmakers and make assurance about resolving their problems.
Govt Recovers Land Worth Billions From 36 PML-N Politicians
Prime Minister’s Adviser on Accountability, Shahzad Akbar, has revealed that the state has recovered 8,085 acres of land worth Rs. 24 billion from 36 PML-N politicians.
While addressing a press conference, Shahzad Akbar said that the incumbent government has made these recoveries in Punjab since coming to power in 2018.

According to details, land worth over Rs. 7 billion was retrieved from Chaudhry Tanveer, Rs. 2.5 billion from Danyal Aziz, Rs. 2 billion from Abid Sher Ali, Rs. 1.5 billion from Muhammad Afzal Khokhar, and Rs. 90 million from Khurram Dastgir.
Besides, land worth billions of rupees have been recovered from PMLN leaders Khawaja Asif, Mudasar Qayum Nahra, Javed Latif, and Mir Badshah Qaisrani.
