DANVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) â It was a busy day at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville Tuesday as the regional medical center administered its first COVID-19 vaccine doses.
Last week, Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center received 190,000 calls about the COVID-19 vaccine. Hospital CEO and President Dan McKay says healthcare workers will spend one day a week administering the vaccine. We can do that safely. We know we are going to get 300 doses a week, that s pretty easy for us to do in one day. If we got more doses, we could get more doses, it s a matter of supply and demand, McKay said.

DANVILLE, Va. – The Danville Courthouse building is closed again due to a COVID-19 exposure.
This is the second time in a week that the complex has been shuttered due to the coronavirus.
A news release from the City of Danville Tuesday afternoon stated that “the James F. Ingram Justice Center (courthouse) has been closed due to a COVID-19 exposure. The building will remain closed for the remainder of the week. The entire building will undergo a deep cleaning.”

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. – A Christmas food and toy giveaway attracted a crowd to a South Boston strip mall Sunday afternoon.
The group God’s Final Call and Warning partnered with South Boston’s Seventh-Day Adventist Church to create a free market with pantry goods and holiday gifts.
“With COVID-19, you’re talking about people who are in need,” said Ralph Rhyne of God’s Final Call and Warning. “Some are desperate.”
“People have lost their jobs. People are hungry,” said associate pastor Fred Betts of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. “We feel it’s our responsibility to do what we can.”
