Riverwalk stretching stations project officially complete in Danville

Danville Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that, in partnership with the Danville Running Club, the Danville Riverwalk Trailhead Stretching Stations Project is officially complete. The project was funded through a Make More Happen Grant by the Danville Regional Foundation in the amount of $14,718.23.  “Stretching is a key, but often overlooked, aspect of individual health and fitness,” said Mark Holland, Coordinator of Special Projects for the Danville Running and Fitness Club. “The goal of this project is to provide pre- and post-exercise stretching areas for Danville Riverwalk users.”  The stations are located at some of the major Riverwalk trailheads, including Anglers Park, Stinson Drive, Dan Daniel Park, Crossing at the Dan, Main Street Plaza, YMCA, Biscuitville, Sandy Creek Park and Park Avenue Bridge.
