Put the shoes and the jacket on your dog this morning, temperatures in the mid 40s. Its a mostly clear start, the weather system that brought us all that wacky weather yesterday has since cleared out. We are going to take a break today and that morning drive looks much better compared to yesterday morning. Were going to be in the mid 40s and sunshine throughout the day. Dont forget the sunglasses before you head out the door. We will talk about whats aheaden and our incoming storm system. Mike, you are tracking down a crash near the bay bridge. I am. Were looking toward the bay bridge. I didnt see it on either angle we have here at the toll plaza or from emeryville, but over here we saw these lanes on the left approach really start to ease up almost as if there was a traffic break. I think that crash must have been somewhere in between just outside the view of our cameras and it may have cleared because i see the lanes filling in once again. We are looking at the slower drive from the
Area and a cool start. I want to show you the hourbyhour outlook. It shows potential of light rain moving through as we go to later this morning and early afternoon ahead of a cold front that will bring in chilly temperatures for the next couple days. Ill talk more about the rain and what to expect for the weekend. Lets check the roadways. Its 4 30 but we are seeing a couple issues on the road starting off with something that has the potential to cause delays northbound 680 after arthur road. All lanes were originally blokd. They have opened the slow lane. It involves multiple vehicles. The Speed Sensors arent picking up too many delays but they have no estimated time when all lanes are expected to clear, which could bring major delays. Theres another crash along southbound 280 at ocean drive. Ahead of that, we see an additional crash. We are seeing slowing in that area. Over to you. Thank you very much. We are covering breaking news out of the east bay. One person died after a fire in
81 degrees right now. We do have some upper 80s in half moon bha. Also lower 80s for inland areas with all of that sunshine. Where were headed this afternoon, and some of the records that may be set. In livermore, looks like well stay just below our record high temperature, but if we get 1 degree hotter than our forecast, well at least tie that record set back in 1941. San jose may tie the record high for today, 90 degrees. It looks like well go above those records for today in santa rosa and napa. Oakland will be very close and San Francisco also very close. But our highs going to reach into the upper 80s, low 90s. When you consider this is the middle of october and should be cooling off, several days before we get some cooler weather. We will talk about whats ahead and also the gusty winds youre feel out there. Thats coming up a little bit later. All right. Sounds good. You can always use our nbc bay area app to keep you informed and alerted about the weather in your neighborhood. Do
As we look at this seven day forecast, it will be cooling off. Cant wait for that, especially in San Francisco. A beautiful weekend ahead. For the inland areas, that cooldown comes a little more gradually. Hey, were going to make progress here over the next several days. More delays for bart riders . The first was daly city. Minor issues there. Now, track maintenance causes delay in the east bay and fruitville. Its nice and cool right now. A huge drive for the speed sensors. I want to talk here in the north bay because we have a deadly crash, which is currently working on this, northbound 101 at highway 12. Not a lot of detail, but a lot of activity from chp. A big rig involved. What it looks like is it should be clear by 5 30. Thats another half hour. Ill track this. No slowing with the deadly crash concerns of why it happened. Well bring more details as it affects your morning. Right now, another tragedy reporting earlier. A scare for drivers in the east bay that ended in the firy an
Ncssm coming in from the west and southwest and that will enhance the fog and usher in a cooling trend. For today, 50s through 80s and for a few, 90s. We have a stalled bus on the bay bridge in one of the right lanes, westbound on the San Francisco side of the bridge. That is all the way across and is causing slow traffic not only on the span but also at the toll plaza. I want to show you that traffic is barely moving. Sometimes we look at this and you can see that it is slow but moving along. Look at those cars. They look like they are absolutely at a standstill. This is a major problem for the bridge. They have slowed of those metering lights down because traffic on the bridge has become very slow. I would not recommend at this point using the bay bridge into San Francisco. I would recommend maybe taking bart or maybe use 880 to get down to the san mateo bridge which is not that bad right now. You have a window of opportunity to use the san mateo bridge or perhaps think about using t
