Citywide garage sales return to southeast Iowa
The Hawk Eye
After years of collecting and searching secondhand markets for just the right “thing,” Kathy Robison knows what she is looking for and where to find it.
When Robison shops, “I tend to hunt and gather treasures from the ’40s and ’50s. I love a lot of things but probably vintage linens are my passion. So I scour garage sales, flea markets, second-hand stores, and such for all things I love,” she said. I adore garage sales; there are so many treasures to be found.
Luckily for Robison, who lives in Abingdon, Illinois, and operates a vendor booth at The Junk Drawer, 147 S. Cherry St., Galesburg, Illinois; and other bargain shoppers, collectors, and sellers, some area cities and towns will soon turn into outdoor treasure havens.
