Wicked Local Before Oaklandvale Elementary School closed permanently, students and teachers jotted down their favorite things about the school on pieces of paper that were linked into a chain of memories. From a visit by Wally the Green Monster to “I’ll never forget all the amazing friends I made,” students shared their feelings on what makes the Oaklandvale School a special place. The creation of a memory chain was among the special events held this month to commemorate the Oaklandvale School. Along with the Waybright School and Lynnhurst School, Oaklandvale is coming offline at the end of this month as part of the district’s reconfiguration into a three-school system.
