Headwaters Health Care Centre reporting two deaths amid outbreak

December 22, 2020   ·   0 Comments Written By PAULA BROWN Headwaters Health Care Centre has reported the death of two patients who tested positive for COVID-19, as the local hospital continues to face an outbreak of the virus.  Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville announced through a press release last Friday, December 18, that three patients in the medical in-patient unit (F-wing) of the hospital had tested positive for COVID-19. Two patients, one with hospital acquired COVID-19, and another with community acquired have also died.  Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) reported two deaths related to COVID-19 in Dufferin County last week. WDGPH communications specialist Danny Williamson said that the individuals were a 56-year-old man and a 90-year-old man.

Two patients, one with hospital acquired COVID-19, and another who acquired he virus in the community have also died.  Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) reported two deaths related to COVID-19 in Dufferin County last week. WDGPH communications specialist Danny Williamson said that the individuals were a 56 year-old man and a 90 year-old man. 

COVID-19: Health officials report two more deaths in Dufferin County

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is reporting two more deaths related to COVID-19 in Dufferin County. Public Health staff say a 56-year-old man and a 90-year-old man have died from complications related to the virus. Health unit spokesperson Danny Williamson could not confirm if the individuals were in a care home, hospital or private residence due to privacy concerns. Since the outbreak began, 26 Dufferin County residents have died from COVID-19. There were six newly confirmed cases yesterday (Wednesday) and seven of the 37 individuals actively fighting COVID-19 are hospitalized.
