They are called skittles parties but instead of candy, kids are passing around cold medications and pills. Ken wayne is live. Reporter it is no secret some people use medications to get high. Over the counter cough syrups are popular among teenagers but the socalled skittles parties are taking that practice to a whole new level. Within the last two weeks at least five High School Students suffered an overdose and were taken to the hospital. We were alerted by students that teachers were off. Reporter three students felt high at Mount Tamalpais high and two at francis drake. We heard one of the students may have ingested cough pilling. I have talked to a few people who have been to these skittle parties. Reporter a pill party is where a group of students get aheld of prescription drugs by raiding their parents medicine cabinet and putting them into a single bowl to randomly sample.
