AR Rahman s iconic song Jai Ho, globally celebrated for its association with Slumdog Millionaire , was originally created for Subhash Ghai s Bollywood film Yuvvraaj , featuring Salman Khan. Ghai recently revealed that despite recording the song for Yuvvraaj , he felt it wouldn t work for the film s context.
The Oscar-winning song Jai Ho was originally not composed for Slumdog Millionaire, but for an ensemble film that went on to become a disaster at the box office.
AR Rahman said in an earlier interview that it was because of a chance encounter between him and director Danny Boyle that led to the collaboration on Slumdog Millionaire.
But Jordan Peele, famous American actor, comedian and producer, scooped the rights for the film, after having a chance to view it and felt that ‘Money Man’ deserves a theatrical release.
