After losing three games in a row, including a humiliating 99-62 thrashing against Zalgiris Kaunas in the previous round, it is fair to say that Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul was absolutely desperate to bounce back with a win when Olympiacos Piraeus visited the Turkish metropolis on Wednesday. Achieving that aim against a dangerous Olympiacos team was bound to require a big effort from Fenerbahce’s key players, so it was fortunate that Jan Vesely – still the reigning EuroLeague MVP – was able to return to action after missing the last three games through injury.
