âDuring the Monday, May 10 meeting, the Linden City Council voted to purchase a street sweeper for $200,000.
âThe councilors discussed the importance of keeping the roads clean, and they commended the work of Thomas Trice, interim director of public works, for his work in finding the equipment and making the recommendation.
âThe purchase agreement includes the $200,000 for a 2019 Elgin Whirlwind from Bell Equipment in Orion Township, plus a three-year service agreement of $30,000. The total cost is $230,000.
âTrice said the city can utilize the fund balance in the 2020-2021 budget and purchase immediately or place it on the 2021-2022 budget and buy it after July 1 of this year.
