The accused killer of mother-of-three Kelly Wilkinson has been charged with her murder after spending 10 days in an induced coma.
Brian Earl Johnston, 34, was visited by officers in the Royal Brisbane and Women s Hospital on Friday where he was under police guard.
Johnston s lawyer Chris Hannay confirmed police had formally charged his client with the murder of Wilkinson, 27.
Hannay instructed his client, who was heavily medicated, to decline to be formally interviewed.

The children of Gold Coast mother Kelly Wilkinson, who was allegedly murdered by her estranged husband, will be cared for by their aunt and uncle in a loud, loving family of 10.
Ms Wilkinson s sister Danielle Carroll and her husband Rhys are now caring for eight children under the age of 11 in their four-bedroom home.
The couple already had five children of their own before they decided to take in Ms Wilkinson s three children following her death.

A post-mortem examination has revealed a mother-of-three died from horrific burns she suffered after her US marine ex-husband allegedly doused her in petrol and set her on fire.
Brian Earl Johnston, 34, a former US military corporal, has been charged with his ex-wife Kelly Wilkinson s murder after allegedly setting fire to her at her home in Arundel on the Gold Coast on April 20.
Johnston was found nearby suffering from burn injuries and taken to the Royal Brisbane Women s Hospital - where he remains in an induced coma.

The family of a young mother who was allegedly burned to death by her estranged ex-husband have told of the heartwarming sight of her three children playing happily with their cousins after moving in with their aunt.
Kelly Wilkinson, 27, was found dead with severe burns in the backyard of her home in Arundel on the Gold Coast about 6.40am on April 20.
Her ex-husband Brian Earl Johnston - an ex-corporal in the US military - has been charged with her murder and breaching a domestic violence order.
Ms Wilkinson s sister Danielle Carroll and her husband Rhys, who have five kids of their own, have stepped in to look after the 27-year-old s three children who are all under the age of nine.
