A Tennessee man who has been jailed in connection with the shooting of the Chapin police chief will go to trial in September unless a plea deal is made.
Chapin Police Chief Steve Helmich was critically wounded during a chase in March 2022. It s taken more than a year of rehabilitation for him to return to duty.
