A Cook County judge on Thursday threw out the murder convictions of two brothers who allege ex-Det. Reynaldo Guevara framed them at the behest of a cop described as “the most corrupt” officer in city history.
Two brothers were framed for a murder because a Chicago police detective who was running an extensive narcotics ring thought one of them had stolen from one of his associates, attorneys for the pair said in court Monday.
Joseph Miedzianowski, former CPD officer now serving a life sentence for racketeering, enlisted former detective Reynaldo Guevara to pin murder cases on drug rivals, lawyers for brothers Jose and Rosendo Hernandez claim.
