Alleged bribery scam: Contractors shut FCTA perm Sec s office – THE AUTHORITY NEWS

April 19, 2021 By Daniel Tyokua  Aggrieved contractors in the wee hours of Monday grounded activities at the Federal Capital Territory Administration over alleged bribery scandal by the permanent secretary, Olusade Adesola. This is coming barely one week after the Joint Unions Action Committee, JUAC, within the administration declared the permanent secretary office’s illegal. The contractors claimed that they had executed various COVID-19 contracts for the administration between March 2020 and April 2021, without being paid.  About 300 visible angry contractors, as early as 10am stormed Area 11 where the offices of FCT Ministers and that of the Permanent Secretary are located, and blocked the major entrances.

Questions as FCTA flags off COVID-19 vaccination - THE AUTHORITY NEWS

March 15, 2021 By Daniel Tyokua There were mixed feelings among residents of the Federal Capital Territory on Monday as the Administration  flagged off COVID-19 vaccination. Most of the residents, especially frontline workers who don’t want their names in print, questioned why FCT minister malam Muhammad Bello,  alongside the minister of state, Dr Ramatu Aliyu would flagged off COVID-19 vaccination without taking it. However, the minister of state for FCT while flagging off the vaccination exercise in Asokoro District Hospital, said she took her COVID-19 vaccine at the weekend to clear doubt from the public, which she declared it as safe.

Crossover Night: Comply with COVID-19 protocol, FCTA tells churches

December 30, 2020 By Daniel Tyokua  The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has urged churches in the territory to heed strictly to the COVID-19 protocols as they prepare for the crossover night service. Fielding questions from Journalists on Wednesday, Head, Media and Public Enlightenment of FCT COVID-19 Task Force, Ikaro Attah said church leaders should obey the government and security personnel directives to avert the spread. He disclosed that combined team of the Task Force will be going round to monitor compliance during the service. Attah said there is the need for worshippers to support any decision of the government that would promote the progress and development of the territory.
