In just April and May alone seven criminals in Hampshire have been guilty of doing just that, leading in some cases to a spell in prison. Among those found guilty was Alexis Meek of Grenfell Road, Mitcham, who was ordered to pay £460 in fines and compensation for assaulting and racially abusing police officers in Southampton. On October 14, 2020 the 25-year-old assaulted three police officers and used racially threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards two police officers in Southampton.
